- 1 1/2 pounds (680g) ground beef

- 1/2 teaspoon pepper

- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 6 soft hamburger buns
Instructions
- Cook onion and pepper in oil until soft. Add garlic 30 seconds.

Sandwiches, not chili
Chili is a bowl. This is a thicker sauce meant for a bun.
Substitutions
Ground turkey works. Add a teaspoon of oil if it is very lean.
Mistakes to avoid
Skipping the drain leaves a greasy sauce that slides off the bun.
Storage
Refrigerate the meat 4 days. Toast fresh buns when you reheat.
Nutrition (estimated)
About 460 calories per sandwich. Estimate only, not a lab test.
FAQ
Can I use a seasoning packet?
You can, and this page is the from-scratch pan instead.
How thick should it be?
A spoonful should stay on the bun for the walk to the table.
Freeze it?
Yes, the meat sauce freezes for 3 months. Buns do not.
What side fits?
Creamy coleslaw or potato salad, both already on Flavors.
