Welcome to Flavors
Hi, I’m Olivia — the home cook behind Flavors. I live in Austin, Texas, and this kitchen is where I write down the weeknight dinners, brunch plates, Southern cakes, and easy cocktails I actually make for friends and family.
Flavors started as a recipe notebook: the casserole that disappears at potlucks, the coleslaw that belongs next to grilled corn, the Kentucky butter cake I bake when someone needs celebrating, and the blackberry mojito I mix when the weather finally cools. Over time it grew into a small recipe site focused on homemade American cooking that feels generous without restaurant gear.
What you’ll find here
- Dinners — casseroles, stuffed peppers, and skillet meals for busy nights
- Brunch — egg sandwiches, crustless quiche, cinnamon rolls, and coffee cake
- Cakes & sweets — Southern butter cake, strawberry earthquake cake, pistachio bread
- Drinks — mojitos, margaritas, and tropical rum shots for easy entertaining
How I cook
I cook the way most home cooks do: grocery-store ingredients, one reliable skillet, and a lot of tasting. When a recipe works, I write it down carefully. When something fails — a watery casserole, a cracked cake, a cocktail that’s too sweet — I keep the lesson so you don’t repeat it.
